CD Reviews
Background music to a haunting dream

"The composer managed to write original music that sounds as if if could have been written in the mid-19th century by an gifted, highly original, yet still Scottish woman, and make it sound contemporary at the same time. I don't know how he pulled it off. It worked wonderfully with the film and conveyed a sense of passion, fun, tragedy, and romance. Do yourself a favor and see the video or listen to this."
One of the best soundtracks

"The music is a delight to the ears and soulfully touching. Listening to this, it's hard to not have mental images floating around. I love all the songs. There are few cds I can listen to that I love all the songs but To the Edge of the Earth, Heart Asks Pleasure First, Here to There, and Promise are some of my favorites on this cds. I highly recommend this soundtrack and watching the movie."

"I think there are very few film scores that make a lot of sense without the movie. This music is beautiful and timeless whether you have seen the movie or not. But you should see the movie!"
Amazingly Beautiful Masterpiece!

"Nyman at his most excellent best! This piano intrumental has it's own heart warming unique musical soul. Like the birth and life of a tiny bird it is born of its own right, grows with great stength and love and takes flight into heavenly sound! They keys and violins will find your deepest sorrows and then release you with an angel's dream."
