"Fans of NPR's "Wha' D'Ya Know" with host Michael Feldman will be thrilled to see that, along with Feldman's many books and recordings of the show, there is now an album of terrific standards from the show's musicians. Pianist John Thulin joins with bassist Jeff Eckels here to record, in their inimitably relaxed way, some terrific standards. Opening with Jimmy van Heusen's "It Could Happen to You," the album goes on to include such classics as Cole Porter's "I Get a Kick Out of You," the great Manning Sherwin tune "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square," and even Stevie Wonder's "Another Star." Stand-outs include "Carolina Moon," a relaxed Southern-tinged mosey of a song; the jittery, swingin' "Love for Sale"; and the long and contemplative "Beautiful Friendship.""
