"This record is a beautiful meditation reflecting on an extended trip NYC saxophonist Blake made to Vietnam in the mid-90s. Featuring many of downtown New York's most important musicians, including David Tronzo, Steven Bernstein, Marcus Rojas, Tony Scherr, and Kenny Wolleson (to name about half), Blake's compositions are handled with the same sensitivity and precision that went into the writing. The result is a moving blend of west and east, boisterous and contemplative. Many moods and scenes are evoked -- a keeper for sure. Blake is another giant-in-waiting."
