Album DescriptionThe Washington, D.C. indie rock noise pop trio Metropolitan is back with their third full-length release for Crank Automotive Records. "The Lines They Get Broken," the follow-up to 2002's "Down For You Is Up," continues the band's hypnotic mix of curving hooks, sliding chords, and raw basement energy. It was recorded by veteran Washington D.C. indie pop/rock producer Archie Moore, formerly of Velocity Girl, and also by Jason Caddell who spent years playing guitar for the Dismemberment Plan. "The Lines They Get Broken" mixes the same elements of garage, noise, and psychedelics that Metropolitan has become known for, as it maintains the same inspirations that "DFYIU" drew from such groups as Sonic Youth, Pavement, Television, Guided by Voices, and the Velvet Underground.
