"This is definitely funk at it's best. Maceo and the JB Horns are the funkiest horn section and singers, and they are working with The Meters, who are pioneers in funk music. Absolutely amazing. However, realize that the artists were not paid for this disc. Before you buy it here, check at the message board at the Funky Meters website, where someone can get you a much better price on this one. Same with Volume 2. Rather than support a foreign company who doesn't pay the artist, get it from someone else who doesn't screw the musicians."
