Unexpected Delight

"I must admit that I have not previously heard of André Messager, or even the Orchestra of the Welsh Opera, yet, both turn out to be quite delightful. The ballet is relatively short, but full of color and excitement. The orchestra responds well to Richard Bonynge's direction and the recorded sound is very good.
By no means is "Les Deux Pigeons" in the same league as, say, "Swan Lake", but it is most definitely worth your exploration."
Always interesting looking for the unknown

"Refreshing music, I am glad I bought it. Recently I have become an addict of french ballet music, very tuneful and entertaining,
mostly under ballet supremo Bonynge who found the time to discover this work and many others while busy conducting his fenomenal spouse around the world. This ballet specifically is not a masterpiece but it is well worth having it. Look around for all Bonynge ballet recordings, there are many and all highly recommendable."
