Overly unimpressive

"First of all, no libretto. Luckily Naxos provides one on internet--only in Italian--that you can follow onscreen. Second, a rather curious detail. The opera has three arias and one cabaletta, all written for minor characters! Dante Alcala, a Mexican tenor, is outstanding, with a voice reminiscent of the young Domingo. Second best, Davide Damiani, baritone. The other male roles forcefully filled. The women, alas, are not cast as strongly: Doriana MIlazzo in the title role is sweetly voiced, while Agata Bienkova lacks the technique for this kind of music and Donna Glaser as the Grand Vestale howls rather than sings. Very clean sound. I bought it because I know there are no chances of my ever attending a performance of it and I want to explore "the other" non-canonical opera repertory."
