"I had to stop the car. I was listenening to this and I had to stop. I was in Australia in the heat in the summer of 1992 and I was taking my children back home from work, and my daughter had just been born, and I heard this.Mendelssohn creates music of such beauty, his great strength is in string writing, and you should listen to his string quartets too.I can't possibly objectively comment on this piece, I have neither the descriptive power, or the right to express such things. I don't know where this music comes from, or what to do about it, I think all you can do is to be grateful and thank God that there are such things and they are still here in the world."
