"The first time I heard Melvin Riley sing was 'Yo that's a lot of Body' with Ready For The World. It just blew me away!!! So when he released this solo album I had to have it. Believe me I was blown away again!! If you like slow, smooth r'n'b (ie: Silk, Troop) then this is the album for you. Melvin has a very sexy voice that just is made for smoove r'n'b. I must admit I do think the few uptempo tracks on the album are the weak link, but the production on the slow tunes more than makes up for it. The only complaint that I have, is about the lack of airplay and publicity Melvin recieves. He has released a new album this year 'Bedroom Stories' which I had difficulty tracking down. But when I did I was not disappointed. The advice I can give to potential puchasers is: Run a bath, light some candles, chill some wine, put Melvin in your CD player.....and CHILL!! KEEP THE ALBUMS COMING MELVIN!"

"This was another one of my favorite cds too. I mean I listen to music but this caught my ear and didnt let go. This brother didnt need RFTW. Form I'm All In to Ghetto Love it was all good. When I lived in California this cd wasnt played enough or we didnt hear it on the radio. Did the brother get any love for such a well put together cd? He should get everything good that comes his way but dont stop making good music. Ihave read the reviews for the latest but I havent gotten the cd yet. When I do I will let you know what I think. Ghetto Love say it again!"

"this was a very good album that was slept on.Melvin has always made good music since his day with ready for the world. It has slow songs on it that wont leave you dissappointed. The best song is whose is it, which he made a video for."

"Melvin Riley's Ghetto Love is an album that a lot of people truly missed. Remenisent of Marvin Gaye's vocal mixture, ballads like "Servin It" and "Tabs on Ya" were two ultimate slow jam classics, not discounting others like "I'm All In", "If You Don't Tell" and "Spoil Ya". With slammin tracks like "Goin' Thru a Thang" and "#1 Nigga From Tha Hood" you're sure to get your party on. If you are a true SLOW JAMMER than this is a must for your collection! Remember before there was Keith Sweat and R Kelly there was Melvin Riley (Ready For the World)."
Perfect CD for Anyone who Loves '80's & '90's R&B Slow Jams

"This poorly marketed CD is a hidden jewel. Melvin Riley continues in the sultry, romantic, classy tradition of '80's and early '90's slow jams. Remember New Edition, Ready for the World (RFTW), Troop, &c. Former frontman for RFTW does an amazing job of singing some songs that will put anyone in the mood. These songs are not the vulgar, in-your-face material that we hear today, but they still are slow and sensual. The faster tracks on the CD are not bad, either. Purchase this CD and you'll be in for a definite treat."
