"Willing to Wait was my first experience of Melissa Ferrick, and I would venture to say that it is the best introduction available. This album works great as a pick-me-up when you're down...intelligent, at times light-hearted...gentle, yet prodding you to get back on your feet. On the other hand, it provides a nice respite from the daily chaos. If you're trying to decide on a Melissa Ferrick album through which to get acquainted, this is the one for you. Massive Blur just won't do the trick the way this one will. Check out "I Am Not" and "Cracker Jack Kid" and you'll be hooked. In the endless search for truly great music, Willing to Wait, for me, was definitely worth waiting for. Be happy you've discovered it..."

"The best of the early 90s alt-singer/songwriters, Ferrick is still going strong, with a whole new and energetic following thanks to her coming out. But I still love this album best. Aggressive, cleanly produced, with the focus squarely on her intricate guitar playing and clever lyrics."

"I picked this album out of the bargain bins basically at random, when I listened to it, I was stunned. I promptly began hunting for her other releases, now I own every album she has put out and I highly recommend them all, all are available on Amazon.com. Melissa Ferrick is the best female singer-song writer working. This is her best album. Her insightful introspective lyrics and beautiful emotive singing will please any fan of Beth Hart, Sinead Lohen or Maria McKee, as well as fans of Paul Simon, Mark Curry and James Taylor (sample lyrics "There'll be no white sheets on my block but my daughter would never marry a black man ....and if you let little girls play with trucks their sexuality gets all screwed up and Polish jokes are just for fun..."). Standout tracks include `Any Time', `Gotta Go Now', `Willing To Wait' and `Cracker Jack Kid'. Highly recommended."

"I picked up this disc on tuesday based on half-heard streaming audio at work...it has yet to leave my player.
If you're an Ani DiFranco fan you can branch out nicely with this.
If you're an intelligent music fan this is the next thing you need to have to brag to your friends about, I know I am."

"A recording filled with pure raw emotion. Not a bad song here. If you are a Etheridge or Indigo fan your will be hooked GUARENTEED! This artist is desearving of much more recognition. I am bewildered by the fact she is not. A new agent perhaps, would do her work justice. First 3 songs I am not, crackerjack kid, faking it. Will keep you wanting more. Buy it, Play it, and watch your friends reaction. Yes, folk rock in it's finest!"
