CD ReviewsTraditional country with touch of bluegrass Peter Durward Harris | Leicester England | 03/19/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "Lead singer Jennifer and her younger twin sisters Teresa and Lisa made an excellent trio. The album generally has a good-time feel to it. Where would that leave me and A quiet desperation (both great songs) might seem sad but they aren't really. Timeless and true love (later covered by Rhonda Vincent) and the title track were hits on the country chart but there are many excellent songs here. Loving you is the Hugh Moffatt song, not to be confused with the more famous Loving Spoonful song of the same title. My songbird is a cover of a Jesse Winchester song. The other wonderful songs on this album are I give you music, Flower in the desert, I know love and Letter from home. If you enjoy the early albums by Alison Krauss and Rhonda Vincent, or you enjoy the mid-eighties music of the Whites, you will probably enjoy the music of the McCarters. Tracks I give you music Timeless and true love Flower in the desert Where would that leave me I know love The gift Loving you My songbird A quiet desperation Letter from home" Truely a Gift Kimberly A. Watkins | Redlands, CA USA | 07/08/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "This album, The Gift, performed by the McCarters is truely a gift. Every single song on this album is gold. The blend of their seemingly effortless angelic voices with a southern charm warms the soul and gets you singing along soon after the first time you hear them. Just great. Thank you McCarters.
