Classic Juice Crew Hip-Hop

"Though many heads would hate to admit it Down By law is a definite Hip-Hop classic. Shans straight foward delivery backed up by Marley Marls legendary producing, creates that classic Juice Crew sound. Surprisingly versatile, Shan's Down By Law covers almost every aspect of the Hip Hop blue print; battle raps like "Down By Law" covers the classic N.Y style, "Left Me lonely" is a rap ballad that is heartfelt and was made at a time when this kind of rap was looked down upon. "Project Ho" a classic hip-hop song depicting shifty girl form the projects, this song also dabbles in the area sexually transmitted diseases. In the song "Another One To Get Jealous Of" Shan expands himself even further transforming his style into Dancehall-Reggae. Last but not least is the classic Queens anthem which brought about arguably the most popular Hip-Hop fued of all time "The Bridge" put Queens on the map while stepping on Boogie Down Productions toes (and the whole borough of the Bronx for that matter) but never made an apology to either and stood head up high to the Bronx based giants. Down By Law, a Hip-Hop classic in every meaning of the word."

"you can notice a pair of puma's and red kangol on the cover photo that coming to my mind these are trademark were gettin know better with MC Shan. all the songs were created with minimalist and relentless drum machine textures with great range of rhyming. especially 'left me lonely' is a pop-flavoured slow jam sounds very delightful to me. i remember that it was originally released back in feb '87 during the def jam & beastie boys & raising hell & tr 808 era. oh man I'm screamin like those were the days, you know what I'm sayin'."
