I have no idea why, but...

"...this recording, made in the basement of a house when we were all very young and green, seems to be some people's favorite! So I am passing that along (because the single star in the previous review refered to the record company's being bad to its artists, not to the quality of the recording).
Some of my favorite tracks are Crimean Sketches (a transcription for klezmer band from a balalaika orchestra recording) and Hotcha Cornea, based on the Spike Jones recording from the 1940s. Also, the version of "Sha Shtil" strikes me as very hip all these years later. Anyway, it's out of print now, but it was fun to do!"
