His infamous hit Wet Dream, was an instant classic, but was banned on many radio stations, particularly in the UK, where he was gaining much notoriety. In 1965 he joined with Kenneth Knight & Lloyd Shakespeare to form The Emotions, earning their first hit on Ken Lacks Caltone label entitled Buy You A Rainbow.
