Product DescriptionHoly Roar Records (Gallows, Rolo Tomassi, Dananananaykroyd, Cutting Pink With Knives) is proud to announce that its first ever split cd release will be between fast-rising London punk-metal crew Throats, and Norwich screamo tykes Maths. Containing 10 tracks (5 from each band) and priced as a mini-album this serves as a stunning introduction to two UK bands who are not following any trend or fashion within rock music right now. This is honest, raw, chaotic rock music for people who still treasure musical substance and great packaging over haircuts, New Era baseball caps and mp3s. With insanely eye-catching artwork courtesy of Tactical Press (aka Colin from US thrash-punk stalwarts Phoenix Bodies), this cd is another fine addition to the ever-glowing Holy Roar Records catalogue. Maths write epic, furious Orchid-esque walls of melody and noise with a tunefulness many of their contemporaries lack. Backed up by an unpredictable and incendiary live show they have quickly garnered support slots and tours with bands such as This Town Needs Guns, F*ck Buttons, Cutting Pink With Knives, Mutiny on the Bounty, Rolo Tomassi, Youthmovies, This Aint Vegas, Tortuga, and pretty much any other hip rock band worth talking about right now. After two demos recorded by the band themselves (which have now completely sold out) MATHS present five brand new songs, faster, louder, more complex and honest than ever before. Throats began life in April 2007 with the aim to play as fast and as heavily as they could. With influences ranging from Some Girls to Black Sabbath and My Bloody Valentine to Burning Witch, Throats are bred to play punk f*cking rock laced with metal influences whilst still unfazed by genre confines. After an early 3 track demo and a bunch of shows the band appeared on the Happy Holy Roar Tape compilation, a recording that that subsequently led to the band being signed by Holy Roar Records. Relocating to London in September 2007, the band have already been selected as a band to watch in 2008 by Rocksound magazine, as well as receiving favourable online coverage and plays on the Radio One Rockshow.
