"you may know this artist more as Merzbow, the prolific genius of japanese noise. This cd is 18 tracks of thick, dense, subterranean sounds. If you like Barry Manilow, stay away! But if you understand and appreciate dense noise music, this is a fine release by Akita. This was released in 1996. Akita uses EMS synthesizer, Ishibashi Theremin, Tapes, and Noise Electronics. All music on the cd was originally made for the Theatre play "Akutoku No Sakae/ Bitoku No Fuko' (which i guess means "The Prosperity of Vice/ The Misfortune of Virtue") by Romantica, and based upon the Marquis De Sade story, "Historie De Juliette OU Les Prosperites Du Vice' & "Les Infortunes De La Vertu".I can't even imagine what a play done to the music of Merzbow would be like in a live theatre!!! It blows my mind just thinking about it."
