"Motown sometimes made lesser songs more easily available even at the cost shunting aside greater treasures, and this has unfortunately happened to my 2nd favorite Marvelettes' song of all time: "Tonight Was Made For Love". Buy this collection just for this track! If you ever loved anything else by The Marvelettes, you might faint when you hear this. Previously available on great, and now unfortunately deleted 1967 eponymous album (their best non-greatest hits album, too) "The Marvelettes, which Motown should be pestered for to re-issue, as well. Get the dreamy, engaging and ultimately heartwarming "Tonight Was Made For Love" here, perhaps your last chance to get it anywhere, for this set, will, just like "The Marvelettes", become a collector's item of the highest order if and when it goes out of print. My recommendation is to invest now and drop other priorities. This song song has only appreciated for me with repeated listenings, and I'm still not tired of it - I only love it more each time I listen to it. The whole set is also a great way to get a quick and sufficing hit of The Marvelettes, altogether too, without overdosing when you need to listen to half of a Compact Command Performances CD worth of music to get what you need of this great group during your listening time."

"The Marvelettes had a unique sound never duplicated by any other girl group and this collection is testimony to that. From slightly rough sounding to smooth and sleek,it's all here.Besides some of their great chart hits there are some others to enjoy, especially "Tonight Was Made For Love"a lilting
trip on the stars,"Whisper",with it's true 50's sound and "When I Need You" with it's driving beat and Wanda Young's sultry delivery. You can't miss a real retro romp with this great collection from a great 1960's Motown classic group!!!!"
A great little collection

"The Marvelettes, for me, were the greatest of the Motown girl groups. They had a rawer edge to their sound than the others. It is an adolescent thing, too. Hearing Mr Postman again takes me right back to those summers days of the early sixties, there has never bben a sound like it. This CD collection has some rare stuff I have never heard before ~ this is always great; like finding a new chapter in your favourite book. Hearing their version of Message to Michael was great, never heard that before. Thanks, little guys out there for finding these treasures and making them available and at such a cheap deal, way less than a round of drinks. Cheers!!"
