"Marty Party Hit Pack" is a title that sounds a little "corny".
But the music on this unofficial "best of" Marty Stuart collection is what you come to expect from Marty Stuart....great vocals and instrumental playing at the same level.

The use of guest artists aided this cd.
"The Weight" with the Staples Singers was very well-done. They actually did the song justice!
"The Whiskey Ain't Workin'" and "This One's Gonna Hurt You..." with Travis Tritt are two more songs that I really enjoy. Honky-tonk, jukebox country is what I call those songs.

Marty Stuart's music fits a niche. It's like rockabilly that never forgot country in my opinion.
"Hillbilly Rock","If I Ain't Got You","Now That's Country","The Whiskey Ain't Workin'" and "Western Girls" would be worn out if this was a cassette!
The vocals are there and the trademark Telecaster sound of Kenny Vaughan, not to mention Stuart's multi-instrument talent really make this a must-have cd for Marty Stuart fans!

"One of the finest, clean cut acts in Country music, Marty blends 1950's Rockabilly with modern styles to make a great and pleasing sound. He does a great version of The Band's "The Weight" and his classic tunes "Hillbilly Rock" and "Little Things" are essential to any Country music collection. The duets with Travis Tritt on "The Whiskey Ain't Working" and "This One's Gonna Hurt You" are just great. The two stars compliment each other's style and mix really well. This is a must for any CD collection, you won't be disappointed."
