CD Reviews

Fiddlin' Rockabilly
Martin 13 | Slovenia | 06/16/2004
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Marty Robbins covered rockabilly and rock 'n' roll songs (That's All Right, Long Tall Sally, Maybellene,...), wrote few originals ("Mean Mama Blues", "Pretty Mama", "Tennessee Toddy", "Mister Teardrop"...). He was the first one who recorded "Singing the Blues" and "Knee Deep in the Blues" (both written by Melvin Endsley) but Guy Mitchell made it for a pop market and won. Same thing happened with "You Don't Owe Me a Thing". He wrote it but Johnnie Ray won the charts."
