"I really love this album. I bought it on an off chance - being an American, I was not terribly familiar with Wet Wet Wet when I bought this album - I just thought it was an interesting choice of material. Over all - it's a great album with some stellar stand out tracks, and of course one or two that don't work QUITE as well - but even those are still not bad. Particularly I like his cover of Brand New Start - I think it's better than the Paul Weller origial. I also like his Beatle's cover Don't Let Me Down and Neil Young's A Lot Of Love gets a fresh new treatment. Sadly his version of Leonard Cohen's Suzanne is one of the weakest tracks on the album (I love this song - Listen to the Esther Ofarim recording - it's one of the best out there). Also not working so well is his voer of the Pretender's Brass in Pocket - it's just strange to hear it sung by a man.
Over all - if you've never heard Marti Pellow - go ahead and buy this album - it's a good bit of fun, enjoyable rock and roll by a Scottish lad with an amazing amount of soul in his voice."
