CD Reviews

Great jazz! A winner!
Duncan Clark | Pittsburgh, PA USA | 10/16/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Mark Weinstein is an exceptional jazz flutist, and this release features the supurb guitarist Dave Stryker. Ed Howard proves to be an ideal bassist for this group, and Victor Lewis is an established drummer adding great swing to the proceedings. The first tune, Loverin', is perhaps the most challenging for listener as well as performers. Give it a chance. From there, we get a varied program with some relaxed tunes (Miyako), blues, hints of world music (Shanti) and barn burners (Airegin). A highlight is Straight, No Chaser on bass flute. This one needs to be savored with repeated listenings. Highly Recommended!"
