"Mark Spiro's best known as a songwriter/producer than as a musician...that is, if you're not into the AOR community. For us, Mark Spiro has the status of an AOR God ...this is his 3rd album (follow-up to CARE OF MY SOUL and NOW IS THEN, THEN IS NOW, both pretty hard-to-find items, and highly recommended).
As usual,guitar aces Tim Pierce and Dann Huff join Mark Spiro in this album, where the highlights are the ballads "Don't Leave Me In Love" and "Campbell River Road", not to mention the powerful AOR-radio-friendly anthems "Better With A Broken Heart", "My Devotion" and "Guardian Angel". This being the Japanese edition, the two bonus tracks are the last two songs...great ones, indeed.
If you like melodic rock, this is a sure pick. Look for Mark Spiro's "KING OF THE CROWS", his latest album. Another great collection of AOR songs. But if you're a rookie in Mark Spiro's territory, then you should start with "THE STUFF THAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF", probably his best album so far... .
This "DEVOTION" album is surely worth every penny you put into it.And hey, if you're an AOR fan, get in touch...the community's growing bigger and bigger..."
