Rich | 02/23/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) ""Windows" is a 2-disc package containing two wonderful albums by Marian McPartland - "Portrait Of Marian McPartland" and "At The Festival" both originally released on Concord Records in 1979. Both sessions demonstrate McPartland in fine form as she is aided by her usual trio at the time, Jake Hanna on drums and Brian Torff on bass. On "Portrait of..." she is also joined by saxophonist Jerry Dodgion who also plays flute on a couple of tracks and Mary Fettig on saxophone on "At The Festival."
Both recordings have been digitally remastered. You can't beat this great deal. I highly recommend this for fans of jazz piano and saxophone." |
