The Remix Album Vol. 1 Marcos Valle
Papetti | Mexico City | 05/02/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)
"This should be the real title of this latest Marcos Valle CD, I think Amazon is now advertising.
If that's the case, this is a 2006 effort Marcos recorded at Roberto Menescal's studio for "Bossa 58" - "Albatroz".
The Tracks are:
1. Veio Veio, Vai Vai
2. Mentiras
3. Os Grilos (Crickets sing for Anamaria)
4. Nova Bossa Nova
5. Samba de Verao
6. Partido Alto
7. Ela E Carioca
8. A Ra
9. O Que Eu Gosto De Voce
10. Bossa Entre Amigos
Regardless of the title; this is not an album with remixes; is more like a modernization of some of Marcos Valle's hits and some of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joao Donato-Caetano Veloso, Chico Buarque, Silvio Cesar and Roberto Menescal (paticipant on this effort).
Very catchy tunes with the direct partcipation of BossaCucaNova (on cut #5 Samba de Verao a.k.a. Summer Samba), but mainly by Roberto Menescal's son Marcio Menescal; he plays bass guitar, keyboards, programming and mixing; Marcos plays his usual Fender Rhodes and his vocals are still (after he started singing Bossa Nova hits 40 years ago) amazing. Others participating on this great album are: Patricia Alvi on vocals, Roberto Menescal on guitars and Wanda Sa as well on vocals.
Marcos Valle along with other originals-from-the-Bossa-Nova movement like Roberto Menescal, Wanda Sa, Joao Donato etc., find a terrific way to keep updating and modernizing themselves and this is the perfect example. If you love Marcos Valle like many of us, and if you love Bossa Nova with electronic elements; this SHOULD be in your collection."
