Spirited Brazilian Jazz Piano at its BEST!

"This is one of Manfredo's best albums. He features some awesome musicians who complement his playing. They have such a tight sound, you'd think they worked together all the time. The drummer, Porthinho, is the best one he's worked with and has been on a few of his albums, though regrettably not on the "A taste of Jobim " album (whose drummer sounded amatuer).
Manfredo performs his own compositions as well as his latin interpretations of standards. I became a fan long after his last album emerged. It's a surprise Manfredo did not achieve the popularity he deserved. You'll love this album!"

"Jungle Cat talvez seja o melhor álbum do pianista Manfredo Fest, gaúcho cego e inteligente que abandonou o vanerão e mergulhou no jazz. Um dos precursores da bossa nova, Manfredo teve formação clássica, mas logo se apaixonou pelo bebop. Nesse disco, além da sólida cozinha, conta a presença marcante do trompetista Cláudio Roditi em algumas faixas. Sua morte, em 1999, foi mais uma grande perda para a música brasileira contemporânea."

"Unfortunately Manfredo's passed 7 years ago and we will only
know his FANTASTIC music, so joyfully and rythmical, which is
a pure pleasure, a pure essence of Brazilean genius !
This is a collector album, it's a shame that you didn't have been recognized enough but THANK YOU Mr Fest, hope the Angels
swing'in with you, God Bless you for your love .
