Not Everything Gaelic Equates Paganism

"Maire Brennan, older sister of Enya and longtime lead vocalist for the legendary Irish group 'Clannad' has delivered a distinctly Irish/Gaelic Christian sound in her album/CD, 'Perfect Time.' Possessing one of the most beautiful voices on the music scene today, just about everything she touches turns to pure gold. So does this -10 track- release.
Containing the type of harmonious melodies and gentle nuances her fans have come to expect of her, Maire doesn't disappoint. There are however some subtle differences between the mood and feel of 'Perfect Time' and her other earlier endeavors.
The overtly reverential Christian tone throughout somewhat stiffles the more spontaneous and joyous Gaelic sounds conveyed in the pagan influences found in her earlier endeavors. It's only in -track 3- 'The Light On The Hill' that I get the feel of the Clannad years. Be that as it may, it's a beautiful recording and a worthy addition to anyones' music library."
Moya's divinity and music shine on this excellent CD

"This ranks as one of my favorite Moya CDs--and as one of my favorite CDs overall. Not because she carries a spiritual theme here, but because combines her divine message with great songwriting and music making--you can listen for the message or just enjoy great music. You can listen to this excellent CD without feeling preached to--it just God and Country and Moya's love of both. In fact, her music is so beautiful that the music alone moves your soul.
My favorite song is Song of David. Moya's voice in the opening verse of this unique choir song are some of the most beautiful notes of music these ears have EVER heard--it brought tears to my eyes. You feel so in touch with the divinity within your soul in this one. It is truly magical and special.
Other favorites include The Big Rock, Na Paisti (love the harmonic voices in this one), Our World, and Doon Well (again, lovely voice harmonics).
Some of the songs otherwise are good and may even be favorites to others but those songs I like on this CD are some of the most inspirational songs Moya has ever produced. There's enough good musical variety too that could satisfy a broad range of musical tastes."
Lovely voice & songs!

"I guess I tuned into the overall sound rather than the lyrics, because I missed the religious connection the first time I listened to the album. Brennan's voice is ethereal and the instrumentation makes it very pleasant listening.
Being used to more folk ballads with flute and fiddle, I found this one feeling more "new age" in styling. The sum effect is very enjoyable. I'll certainly look for more of her CDs.
