Synopsis

Album Description
This mini-album contains the first single from the debut full-length "What Comes After The Blues" plus four previously unreleased songs. Categorically, they're working class rock, having secured their place amongst like-minded icons such as Bob Seger, CCR, Tom Petty, and Bruce Springsteen. The wounded feminine voice coupled with sweeping guitar and mournful organ dramatically reiterate the loneliness and guilt of separation. "...it's the solitary wailing of American ghosts, of failure and regret in the eerie stillness of the Midwest. It's the modern man's blues" - Magnet. "...Molina has all the communal warmth of a bonfire sing-along, with vivid - often bloody - tales of love and betrayal, served with a twang and a smile" - Details.

CD Reviews

For the record, it's wonderful
Shamus Macgillicuddy | Brooklyn, NY United States | 11/07/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"For all you Magnolia Electric Co. / Songs: Ohia / Jason Molina fans out there who are wavering on whether or not to bite the bullet and get this EP: Bite away, folks! The new songs are terrific, and they more than make up for the fact that you've probably had the title track for a while. I got the CD for 'Doing Something Wrong,' but both 'Bowery' and '31 Seasons In The Minor Leagues' have grabbed me--plus I can't deny that I'm enjoying the left-field Zevon cover."
