"This CD made it into the top 3 of my CD collection instantly. Very very good indeed. Sort of Tindersticks mixed with the Heroes del Silencio and a bit of Ry Cooder. "Vocal" is an absolute classic, together with "Shine" and "This Old House". Shame the band isn't very well known outside Norway because they really deserve it. I just ordered their latest album and from what I have read so far, it's even better than this one"

"Fabulous....really: what a voice. Seems to come right from the deep Norwegian fjords, echoing against the rocks.... The rifs are very infectious. Especially Norwegian Hammerworks Corp. Other highlights: Sirens, Strange colour blue, Electric, Salt. Good debute, easy-listening but outstanding quality!"
Easy-going and relaxed, yet serious and warm

"This is the first (full-lenght) cd of this magnificent band. I first heard "Nightly disease", so I already know that cd a bit better. This first cd is just as good as their second one; the songs of the second cd are maybe even more relaxed, warmer and mature than this songs. But also on this cd you hear what Madrugada makes so good and special: atmosphere, a (sometimes) seventies-sphere, excellent melodies and the very warm deep voice of the singer. Sometimes they sound like 16 Horsepower, and sometimes they sound like Nick Cave, the Doors or even like Cohen. The whole cd long you wonder why they sound just as spheric and warm as other Scandinavian acts like Sigur Ros or Bjork. Madrugada creates a wonderful environment, and they do that with nothing more than conventional instruments, a bit piano and a slice of pedal-steel guitar. Just beautiful!"
