CD Reviews

My Favourite Madonna Song
Chris | Christchurch, New Zealand | 03/26/2004

"OK So it might sound crazy, but I am not an out-there Madonna fan!, I dont have any of her CD's whatsover, but most of the singles she releases I love. This is by far the most Un-madonna-like song I have heard in ages. This is a beautfiul (ballad) and it has an atmosphere that reminds me of the time when it was released =). The lyrics are great and this is peiced together amazingly. Like A Prayer my other fave apart fom this by the way!, this is one of her best. Its a very haunting ballad that will stay with you all day until you hear it!. I 100% reccomend this haunting amazing song. The music to go with it is haunting aswell I really reccomend you give this a try."
A Must Own Madonna Maxi-Single.
Chris | 12/04/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Like the album's second single, "Ray of Light", this maxi contains the album version followed by three remixes.
1. ALBUM VERSION: The music and lyrics of Madonna and Patrick Leonard, her longtime collaborator, responsible for "Like a Prayer" among others, with the techno-ambience of William Orbit creates a potent combination. It's at its core a simple pop song, but the complexity of the arrangement is just amazing, and the warmth of the strings arranged by Craig Armstrong are quite compelling.2. STEREO MC'S MIX: How do you mix an almost perfect song? This mix puts a funk beat to it, for a surprisingly good interpretation. I love a remix that works as a dance mix, but doesn't have the typical club beats, and this is certainly it.3. EXTENDED CLUB MIX: Victor Calderone has done many a traditional club mix of Madonna's recent ouevre, and does another highly enjoyable job with this one. I do appreciate that he takes out the thumping bass on occasion in favor of a synth-based interpretation of the song's string arrangements. Good dance mix.4. MELTDOWN MIX: This is courtesy co-producer William Orbit, and this is basically an extended fantasia on the album version, but with enough new beats and instruments to make it quite interesting and cool."
Good CD

"This Single is well worth buying even if you already have the album. The sasha remix (released with its own video) is very good but the Caulderone mix is outstanding and shows why he is Madonnas favourite DJ. Buy this now even if it leaves you without money for food and drink."
