"Some bands are hard to understand on the first listen. Not that their lyrics are hard to understand, though Mad Capsule Market's are unintelligable but hard to understand what they are trying to do. I had no idea what to make of the punk/thrash/techno/metal/jpop of MCM for a while, but I quickly figured out the answer... don't try to understand. Listen. Enjoy. If you like Dead Kennedys, SOAD, Rammstein, Dillinger Escape Plan, Deftones, Vandals, KMFDM, Pigface, you will love this album.
I haven't played Quake online in years, but RL(pulse) makes me want to play all over again... it is definitely music to run around and shoot stuff up to.
And to think... someone actually just gave me this disc..."

"They have a piece of genius in this cd. There perfect blend of Japanese and English has really got them noticed by the Japanese music industry and the rest of the world!
They have a great fusion of rock and punk and even some techno, it really is a frankinstein's monster of a record but its one hell of a jounrney just listening to it.
These guys from Japan have a great future ahead of themselves if they keep this quality of music up.
Get it to know what perfection sounds like!"

"I first got a copy of OSC-DIS in 2002. I got it for free out of my University newspaper's "to review" bin. I picked it up because I thought the cover looked kind of silly and the label on the shrink-wrap called it something like "electronic digi-punk hardcore music."It is now my favourite CD ever - I even bought a second copy after my original got lost/stolen.I can only describe it as something like what would happen to music if William Gibson ruled the universe. The whole thing is utterly unique, intense, and just plain heavy while being very melodic and completely accessible at the same time. That is a hard mix to put together, but MCM does it with EVERY TRACK, and it makes the album this great, fun, loud, cathartic experience.I can't say enough about this album. It's an all-timer. Get it."

"yet even in japan it is not that well known. i think a lot of people are missing out on a great band. this album is probably really where their music changed from the stuff they started at around 1990, this album is where the louder, more metal like mcm starts. (the album before, "digidogheadlock" is a transition album between the two styles) so, what is mcm like? its an almost perfect blend of industrial metal, hardcore punk, sometimes a little pop, distorted vos, and ridiculous jap-eng lyrics that make almost no sense. it begins with the loud altmetal song "tribe" and catches ur attention. then later it moves onto different styles ending again with another heavy altmetal song called "midi surf" well, heres how i would rate the songs (out of ten).
Tribe - 9/10 very good beginning to the album. no melody and very loud. leaves an impact, keeps you listening.
Out/definition - 8.5/10 another loud one. fight music definetely.
Pulse - 10/10 highlight of the album! it combines a repeated melody and repeated lyrics over and over again with very nice drums (i think they're using a machine on this one) very punky and enjoyable.
Multiples - 8/10 not the best song, but definetly good.
Mobtrack - 7.5/10 back to heavy, no melody here, but again a good "fight" type song.
All the Time in Sunny Beach - 10/10 man i love this one! there are other mcm songs are similar to this, they start very hardcore, but have a nice, light punky chorus. very very good one.
Island - 9/10 haha suddenly, we leave all the loud hardcore and enter the world of happy pop music. a nice comic surprise. near the end it does turn altmetal tho.
Restart! - 8/10 computer generated stuff. catchy, but not the best.
Jag - 6.5/10 hm... this one reminds me of the old mcm back in the 90s
Step Into Yourself - 6/10 filler type music. too bad they put this here.
Good Girl (dedicated to bride 20 years after) - 10/10 punk rock lovers will love this song. very catchy, and this song also happens to be for motokatsu's baby girl, he plans to play it when she gets married in 20 years! a very nice and light song, a mix of slightly pop punk, and fast paced metal.
MIDI Surf - 10/10 very good epilouge to the album. gets you to play the album from the beginning again. very loud, and i personally like the lyrics "(strive) everybody, (strive) if you're hungry, (strive) you get nothing unless you do something, (strive) everybody, (strive) if you're hungry, (strive) you get nothing unless you strive." haha this happens to be my motto now.
and so there you go! thats your hardcorepoppunkelectrometaljapaneseenglish mcm! i think that a few of the songs should definitely not have been put on this album, but the mix of style and the way some are so amazingly catchy and just plain awesome, its best to listen to this album head to toe. i give this album 5/5 stars!"
