"Talented Nashville singer-songwriter Mack Starks has belted it out of the ballpark with this beautifully crafted set. Formerly with critically acclaimed band "Farmer Not So John," Starks' solo career is ready to rocket with this layered, thoughtful collection. Built on Starks' trademark powerful lyrics and fine ear for adding enough production - but not so much that it crowds out the music - "Elsewhere" is a great introduction to those new to Starks' work, or a welcome return for fans. My fave track is "It Doesn't Add Up" but honorable mentions go to the strangled emotion of "Colleen" and the amiable "Dead Man's House." If you are around in Nashville, catch one of his frequent live performances, and in the meantime, this CD is definitely one for the collection of anyone who wants to connect with a true artist."
