MACHITO SWINGING KILLER DANCE RECORDING!!!
Fidels Eyeglasses | new york city, new york United States | 10/30/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)
"Soul of Machito" was produced by George Goldner, who at this time had big success with the boogaloo craze on his Cotique-label.
So, this recording is special because it's not sounding like Machito's many Tico albums from the first part of the '60s.
No feature for Graciela, but she is heard PROMINENTLY AND CLEARLY in the "coro".
But it is an extraordinary band with *Alfredo "Chocolate" Armenteros among the trumpets and who takes several awesome solos!! (*IN HIS PRIME IN 1968!)
Machito made only a few records from this period - the new VERY THOROUGH six page liner notes will tell you why.
FANIA REMASTERED RECORDING WITH AN AWESOME SOUND!!
***A MUCH OVERLOOKED MACHITO SWINGING KILLER DANCE RECORDING!!!
***A MUST HAVE RECORDING FOR THE MACHITO COLLECTOR!!"
