Probably the "quintessential" Mac Wiseman album

"If you only buy one Mac Wiseman album (although I can't imagine why anyone would thus limit themself), make this the one. Wiseman is one of those folks you've probably been hearing for years and didn't realize it. As these sounds come off the CD, you'll find yourself saying "oh yeah, that one. I didn't realize that was Mac Wiseman". "Dark Hollow", "Wreck of Old 97" "'Tis Sweet To Be Remembered" are all Wiseman classics that he's recorded the definitive version of. His version of the Carter Family classic, "Jimmie Brown, The Newsboy" is second only to the Flatt & Scruggs rendition. Some of you folks will probably be shocked to discover that Wiseman even did a great bluegrass version of "Love Letters In The Sand", a pop hit for Pat Boone on the Dot label recorded just after Wiseman became A & R head for Dot in 1957. Don't miss this opportunity for one of bluegrass and country music's best voices."

"Mac Wiseman will go down in bluegrass and country
as one of our great artists of the century. I have
numerous c/d's of his and I can't pick out a favorite.
Bluegrass music will not be the same when he no longer
is recording."
