"Mac is one of the tightest MC's on No Limit. This album is a must have, if anybody say Mac ain't tight they are very closed minded because Mac can come up with unique verses you be like "woo that verse is tight". Don't just listen to the beats but the verses that Mac spits. Beats by the Pound put it down on the album yes, but the verses helps also. That why all the songs are on fire. There not a track on this album I don't like. from the hard hitting beats of: Track#15 Shell Shocked. Track#7 We don't love 'em to the smooth R&B sound of: Track#12 Callin me Track#17 Camoflauge Love To the serious and deep verses of: Track#6 Slow yo Roll Track#16 Paranoid Track#20 Empire and that just to name a few. Mac is my all time favorite if I buy a No Limit CD the first thing I listen to is a track that has Mac featured on it. I hate the fact that Mac don't get enough publicity as some these LAME DULL FAKE RAPPERS that's getting all the attention but when you listen to Shell Shocked you'll agree too."

"21 year old New Orleans native (at the time it was released), Mac, releases a good debut album on No Limit at a time when they were near the top of the rap game. He has 5 solo's out of 21 songs (a lot for a no limit release). Features the No Limit camp as all their releases do, as well as Storm of the Outlawz. Production is handled by Carlos Stephens, O'Dell, Mo B. Dick, and KLC of the Beats by the Pound Crew who handles all No Limit production ans they do another good job. There is 4 songs I skip and 3 ok songs, and 3 classics, leading to the fact it could have been a 15-17 song great album. Still a good album and a must have for down south fans.

"I must say I bought No Limit's Cd's everytime one was released, and I always noticed the cover of shell shocked inside the cover of previous cd's advertising it's release(coming soon) it seems to me this was a highly anticipated album, and believe me it was, when I first bought this album in 98, I was shocked at how Mac's rhymes were different from any other rapper on no limit, I expected him to sound somewhat of what I was used to hearing but I was wrong. I always said MAC was the best No Limit had to offer and Shell Shocked and all these helpful reviews will back that up. Mac raps on tha real not tha fake"
BEST LYRACIST THE SOUTH HAS EVER SEEN

"I give Lil Wayne, Mystikal, Juve, B.G., Fiend, Flip, Luda, Outkast, UGK, & Slim (R.I.P.) props for being some nice M.C.'s, but "MAC" is the nicest M.C. the south has ever seen or heard so far. The only rapper in the south who can compare to this guy is "Scarface". Too bad he didn't get his chance to really shine. Stay up Mac."
