"In my opinion, MC Ren was the star of N.W.A., and this Cd shows a different side of him. The music on here is much slower than N.W.A., but his lyrical skills haven't faded a bit. I am not even that much of a hip hop fan, and this is one of the few releases that I really enjoy."

"Back one more time for one part of the world's most dangerous crew, N.W.A. MC Ren delivers what he is known for, simple lyrics that are vulgar (to say the least), and that's what made him famous in the late 80's, so why switch? Straight gangsta in his lyrics through th ewhole album. Lyrically he is average but he tells good tales and he's vulgar. Beats are pretty good on the album and are handled by 8 different producers (most notably LT Hutton & Ant Banks). Has 4 of the 12 songs with guests. No classics but no weak tracks, one can listen from track 1 to 12 without skipping a song. A must have album for his fans.

Not the greatest rap album... but majorly under-rated

"MC Ren, along with Ice Cube, and Warren G, have the best voices and flows in the world of hip-hop. This album is well produced with a good amount of great songs. "Ruthless For Life," "Comin' After You," and "CPT All Day," are the best songs on this CD, but on whole it's great. Although this CD isn't a five star album, (In my oppinion) Ren's Greatest Hits CD will be a keeper 4 sho!"
Great comeback for one of the hardest!

"Is there a doubt that MC Ren is one of the most ruthless and hardcore rappers out there in the music industry? Is there a better rapper to put on a song if you want it to sound gangsta as fu**? The answe to both questions is no. MC Ren is a legend, and he's been that way ever since his N.W.A. days. The boy's got heat! His last album "The Villain in Black" was in 1995 and on this one MC Ren comes out strong as ever, with some high quality production!.... He throws a lot of disses to new rappers and the industry itself, keeps representing the CPT and also has a few gangsta lines to drop about the streets and them ho*s. The production is smooth gangsta rap held by LT Hutton, T-Mixx, Ant Banks and others. Featured rappers are MJG, Eightball, Snoop Doggy Dogg, RBX, Big Rocc, Peeps and the Chill. This is a classic album by one of the gangsta rap pioneers, who has done this for about 10 years. On second thought, this album is a clear 5 stars deserving album, but I can't change the rating. Anyway, if you're into gangsta rap, the real- the hard sh**, there's no way you won't like (or even love) this album. I mean, Ren's baritone voice is just untouchable, and the beats they used on the album were amazing. One of the last great albums Ruthless Records released and probably Ren's last one. Don't miss that."

"I just got this album today here in Australia. It is the sh*t. MC ren is sooo underrated it isn't funny, he was the most consistent rapper in nwa always dropping bombs and doesnt get the respect he deserves. The 1st track is off the hook and the rest is great too. BUY THIS CD."
