"It is self-titled, and the inside cd jacket states, "Luxury presents Luxury being Luxury"...This is that rare disc where a band has more confidently realized their own sound while subtly, simultaneously adding to it. Luxury is a band that is in love with the melody, and they provide some of their catchiest, most rewarding ones here. "To Conquer and Destroy," "Mincemeat," and "Euphrates With the Golden Hands" jump out as standout cuts, arguably the band's best to date. Check out the chunky post-glam T-Rex chorus on "Euphrates" and the slyly double-tracked vocals on "Mincemeat"-- subtle touches that add the extra detailing to an already strong sound... Luxury, however, is far more than just sonic styling and clever arrangements, as they are the only band I know of that takes an ironic, detached stance toward ironic detachment (read: postmodernism) itself!! The band's gloriously excessive approach belies the thoughtfulness beneath, eventually revealed in lyrics that rebuke the hedonism they seem to be embracing. Their convictions are not to be mistaken in the end. Along the way, though, you just know that they love the music, and sometimes even they are tempted by it. Isn't that the way rock music ought to be?!"

"The first time I heard Luxury's latest self-titled release on bulletproof music, i could only think of one word to describe it. "Amazing." Luxury is one of those bands that refuses to stay in one place for very long musically. With their first release they were often tagged a Smiths rip off. Personally i never thought so but oh well. With the new self titled they've moved away from anything they've ever done and it is fabtastic. The Smiths influence is definitly there but along with that of the cure, radiohead, and maybe a little suede. As hard as i try (for my critical side's sake) to think of something bad to say about this record, i draw a blank. if you don't like this record...its quite possible that there is something wrong with you. It is the bands best work to date and we expect even more in the future."

"Keep your eyes on this band. With the release of this third album, Luxury reaches new bookshelves not attempted by other christian artists. It seems a shame to me that it has taken this long for christian "art" topoke the white wall of creativity, but this album smears itself all over it. 4 stars for creativity, 4 stars for originality, 4 stars for art work! This is a mile ahead of their last two albums, but i don't think that they will stop here. This is a new and exciting sound to so many christian music listening ears, I am sure Luxury is only begining.(if you like radiohead, the smiths, the prayer chain, blur..that kind of thing.)maybe next time they'll get another star!"
It just keeps gettng better...
