"This is an excellent CD.
Definitly one of my favourite Williams recordings. His bach is so finely detailed, the voices clearly maintained, seperate and together! The Passagio/Presto from suite 1 is the best! I always listened to the Richter piano (curse that instrument) recording of the presto from a Bach italian concerto and wondered at the beautiful way in which all those voices interweave etc etc. Here on the guitar is a smaller scaled version, There is still hope for guitarists!!"
A fine hour with this great guitarist...

"Many of these pieces were originally composed for the lute, but in the hands of Mr. Williams, the classical guitar seems the ideal conductor of the notes to the ear. Play it while driving, when you are alert enough to pay attention to both the music and the highway. Get lost in the seemingly simple beauty of combining Bach, a guitar, and John. A nice experience, this, at a bargain price. This is on the Sony Legacy label, which repackages Columbia Records classical LP's from the golden age of album sales, the '50's and '60's."
