So this is what they meant! A very strong album - 4.5 stars

"So this is what they were aiming at all this time?!? After their second album Fables and Dreams left me feeling, well sweet bugger all actually, my hopes for this album weren't that high. But once you get past the somewhat silly spoken workd intro this ablum is a lovely piece of work by this Swiss symphonic rock outfit.
Partially funded by fans pre-purchasing the album Lunatica seem to have grown in stature exponentially on this release - is this the mob who gave us the stilted F+D album I thought to myself many times through this disc. The tunes here have been lovingly crafted with the hint of progressive tendencies showing through in places such as the tempo change part way through the track Sons of the Wind. But this release actually addresses a range of subgenres from it's symphonic rock perspective. These would include the crunching riffery of Together, a battlemetal style piece to balladry such as The Power of Love. We also get the keyboard riff driven Out! - actually written by producer Saescha Paeth - and guest appearances by John Payne and Oliver Hartmann, not to mention Dieter Meier (Yello).
Of course on a single album you can't do everything yet this album is a rich tapesty of lovingly producted and well thought out tunes. Vocalist Andrea Datwyler seems to have gotten stronger of voice, her contribution is more sturdy rather than the gutless ethereal stylings of their previous album and it really adds a new strength to the tunes.
In fact the whole project from the ground up (artwork by Mattias Noren - Stratovarius etc) through to the band pics and the publicity push the band embarked upon on the albums release shows a lot more professional assault. Released around the same time as the disappointing to some Open Door by Evanescence and with Nightwish in neutral this album is at least a match for Within Temptations The Silent Force as while the Dutch band have a slight lead in the X factor stakes, this album by Lunatica is actually more song focused than The Silent Force.
Totally recommended for fans of symphonic rock and euro metal in general."
The Lunaticas are back

"Lunatica was one of several sleepers I picked up last year. Naturally I had to pick up this years offering - The Edge of Infinity and it did not disappoint. With this offering I got more of a grandiose Epica feeling on several songs. Honestly, there isn't anything particularly outstanding about this Swiss Symphonic, Femme Metal sextet or their music for that matter. Their attraction, for me at least, seems to be that their music is just so pleasant to listen too.
Now if you're wondering, other than comparisons to other bands what Lunatica sounds like, I will try to tell you. The music is highly melodic and structured. It's hard to tell in this day and age of layering but many of the songs if not all are backed by an orchestra.
If I do have complaint about Lunatica, It's not about their music which is dreamy. It's about their lame name. Hey that rhymes. Maybe I should write rap lyrics instead of reviews about bands with lame names. Hey ... oh I already been there. Anyway, seriously, with the name Lunatica, wouldn't you suspect it was a Death Metal Band. Well, they couldn't be farther from Death Metal.
Suitable for fans of Nightwish, Within Temptation, Visions of Atlantis and of course Epica."
GREAT COMMERCIAL HOOK WITH FEMALE FRONTED MELODIC SYMPHONIC

"If you're a fan of Nightwish and After Forever but still have a passion for some of the more commercial flavors of hard rock then this is an album for you. It's easy on the ears with a hook that is anything but cliche. Buy this album and you won't be dissapointed! I am so glad that I found this project and I'd have to say my favorite track on the album is Out! Enjoy it as much as I have.
The female voicings immediately jump out at you as a very produced and commercial project that has a different flavor than the more popular Amy Lee. The vein is similar to that however, and you'll find yourself tapping your feet to the songs. It's not as heavy as the Nightwish or as symphonic but leaves the listener still jumping out of their seat in a rockers euphoria!"
Very good CD that will make you happy when your down

"Ok first thing's first it seems like ever metal band that has a lead female singer is a Gothic Metal band. Why that is I will never know. What Edenbridge, Epica, After Forever, Nightwish, Visions of Atlantis, and Lunatica have in common with Lacuna Coil, Moonspell, and Trail of Tears I will never know. Those four band are fast heavy and use more themes from Power Metal, Prog Metal, Death Metal, and black metal (ie Epica's new album coming out this year then they do from Gothic Metal). If you call Lunatica Gothic metal then you you need to get your hearing checked and show me how where they have a Gothic Metal sound.
Any ways like I said in the title if you want musit that will left you up and make you happy then pick up Lunatica because that's what they do with there music. So songs on hear hit back to there power metal roots. Where as other songs such as Who You Are, Song For You, and The Power Of Love are more rock songs with Who You Are being more of a Pop Rock song only more heavy.
Songs such as The Edge Of Infinity, Sons Of The Wind, and Together are there power Metal songs. Then there is Emocean (No this is not Emo thank god). This songs falls right into the Symphonic Metal side of music.
Pick this up if you are looking for that up lefing music."
