"Founded in 2000 by lead guitarist Richard Hecks, Luna Blanca hails from Germany and is named in homage to world-renown Nuevo Flamenco guitarist Ottmar Liebert. The 3rd release for Luna Blanca, GUITAR ISLAND is a delightfully uplifting musical journey featuring eleven irresistible, original compositions by Hecks and the band's pianist Helmut Graebe. The critically-acclaimed ensemble performs throughout Europe from larger festivals such as Germany's sold out Bocholt concert "Just4Fun" to more intimate gatherings involving food and music pairing; the press has dubbed these smaller events "Flamenco Culinario." The musicians well know how to play real Nuevo Flamenco. Their music follows traditions and at the same time it is very innovative and modern.



Weightless and inspired compositions of Luna Blanca are true art. They bring joy and uplift the spirit. And yet this music is skillfully played.



Almost all music is composed by the founder of Luna Blanca - guitarist Richard Hecks and pianist Helmut Graebe. Some wonderful musicians joined them in order to record the album "Guitar Island". They are famous flamenco guitarist Bino Dola, percussion award winner Sascha Popping, producer Clemens Paskert - Bass, additional Keyboards and Axel Rohrbach - Orchestration on the composition "Robinson Crusoe".
