"I admit I have a soft spot for female fronted hard rock bands like Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, and even Evanescence. I came across Lullacry by accident. I was reading issue #21 of OUTBURN magazine this past summer and they had a review of "Crucify My Heart". Curiousity piqued. A few months later, I threw caution to the wind and decided to order "Crucify My Heart" via Amazon. I just got the cd today and am currently listening to the cd. I am definitely enjoying the melodic yet loud, crunchy guitars and the sweet vocals of new vocalist Tanja. Yeah, the loud, crunchy guitars is a throwback to '80s hair metal and the cd a bit more polished than necessary but if you listen with an open mind and get passed those things, "Crucify My Heart" is a 43 minute rollicking good time. Every song on this cd is hard not to sing along to. They are all catchy. Rock ballads in general are pretty cheesy but Lullacry makes songs like "Unchain" very enjoyable to listen to. There wasn't a single song on "Crucify My Heart" didn't like. I personally wouldn't dare compare Lullacry to Lacuna Coil, Evanescence maybe. No matter what, "Crucify My Heart" is a good solid rock album I will be enjoying for years to come."

==================
Anyone who enjoys Evanescence, should certainly give "Crucify My Heart" a listen. Lullacry is another very solid female fronted Rocker Metal outfit. Very catchy, and quite heavy at times too...
I would have to say this is alittle less radio oriented than the music Evanescence has released, and it's got a harder edge, but the overall feel is quite similar. Both bands are a great listen, and I have a hard time choosing between "Crucify" and "Fallen" when I want to hear this kind of Metal....
I'm truly a huge Lacuna Coil fan, and I've been searching high and low for something similar to them. Needless to say, I've had a very hard time accomplishing that with the exception of a few bands {Theatre Of Tragedy / Leave's Eyes / After Forever}. Since I was reading and hearing great things about Lullacry, I decided to give this a shot. I was not disappointed, and I'm sure I'll purchace more from them in the future....
Lullacry is not Goth Metal, I'd classify this with Evanescence and their "Rocker Metal" lable. When you want to hear something fun and cool, this is a perfect disc to spin....

"Stick with Lacuna Coil or Nightwish. This CD is good but there's not much creative departure from the various tracks. There are better CDs out there for this type of music."

"Ironic, those lyrics from Don't Touch the Flame" (my favorite track), since this music reminds me of 80's rock but a little hotter, kind of a mix of Pat Benatar, Cindi Lauper and ZZ Top on steroids. At least I don't remember ZZ using the pinch harmonic. The Review says it is Goth metal but I would not have guessed that from listening, or I don't know what Goth metal actually is (a distinct possibility). Another lyric, "and I don't care/for what you say/'cos the only reply I have is f--- you anyway," at least shows that they can rhyme. Normally I don't care for four letter words in my music, but this line made me chuckle so I'm not deducting any points for it. And maybe that is what makes it Goth? Different from most of the other works I have reviewed here, I'm liking it for the variety and a decent sounding (to my ear) female voice backed by some basic rocking instrumentals. (Please see my profile for a brief discussion of my rating philosophy.)
