Very dissapointing selection

"Being a library music lover, and being a big fan of Luke Vibert's more sample-oriented tracks, I thought this album would be a sure winner. But this collection of tracks just doesn't make it. Vibert has focused his selection on experimental electronic tracks, which should be a good thing, because I love the sound of old analogue monsters from the 70's, but unfortunately most of these tracks sound improvised and as if the composers had no clue what they were making and banged the keyboards randomly. Another thing that bugged me with this CD was that it sounded pretty bad, many tracks features annoying filters effects, and I think that the mastering has enhanced the bass frequencies too much. There just aren't any tracks that stand out on this collection. There are a few nice moments, of course, but nothing worth the price of this album. I recommend getting the "Music for Dancefloors: The Cream of the Chapell muic library" instead which has more charming, engaging music. You can also try to fing the soundtrack of the TV series "the Prisoner" vol. 2 and 3, which are my personal favourites of library music collections, and contains "Electro-Mind" a wonderful primitive electronc track that Vibert has sampled on his track "Bend Over", but didn't include on his selection, for reasons unknown. That's the kind of track I was expecting from this compilation..."

"This is Luke Vibert (of wagon christ, plug, etc.) searching through archives of late 60's early 70's French commercial and tv show music archives. Basically a couple of stoned composers f-ing around with vintage synths and syncopation. a listen hard to compare, not always engaging, but essential nonetheless for music enthusiasts"

"This album is a fun look at electronic music that leans on disco a lot for it's structures. It makes me feel like there was a weird 70's european culture that noone remembers or talks about. It can bit long to digest in one sitting, and I would recommend sprinkling throughout a big mix on shuffle."
