CD Reviews

Buyer Beware!

"While these songs are interesting there's only 2 on this CD."Unsuffer Me" and "Everything Has Changed". If you can pick it up for 2 or 3 dollars(and you can if you shop around)then pick it up.Do not pay more than that for this CD single. BUYER BEWARE!"
Better than the album version!

"I disagree somewhat with the previous review as this cd has one of my all time favorite Lucinda performances on it. To my knowledge, there have been 7 demo recordings from the West album released: two on this cd, two on another promo cd, two more on the Japanese import version of West, and one other released as an iTunes exclusive. Personally I find all the demo versions of these songs more intriguing than the versions released on 'West', but of all the demo tracks, "Where Is My Love" in particular stands out. The music is more sparse in the demo version -- specifically the drums -- in that it's more of a light and slow blues-jazz shuffle instead of the straight 3/4 driving pattern found on the album version. There is also less instrumentation in general, and I find that this sparse approach fits the lyrics and mood of the vocal delivery far better than than what's on the album. So for me, this track alone makes this particular promo cd worth owning. Shop around (of course) and get it as cheaply as you can, but Lu's West demo recordings are all worthwhile in my opinion. Start with this one though as "Where Is My Love" is far and away better than the album version and the best of her demo recordings."
