"This new release from Lucille Starr is named for her 1964 hit "The French Song," from the album of the same name recorded on A&M (LP/SP 107). That album, plus 5 bonus tracks, has been reissued on CD in Canada. Besides Lucille's outstanding solo career, fans may recall her work with Guitarist Bob Regan in the Canadian Sweethearts. This duo's recordings on A&M and Epic labels also need to be reissued, particularly INTRODUCING THE CANADIAN SWEETHEARTS (A&M LP/SP 106) and SAY YOU LOVE ME (A&M LP 100/SP 4100). Lucille's vocal talents extend from folk, to country to torch songs and beyond. How wonderful it would be to see it become available again. There were many great songs previously only available on 45s, such as "Looking Back to See," "The Wayward Wind," "Yodel Love Call," "Haunting Me," "Soldier Boy," "Don't Knock on my Door" and "Torture Me." Perhaps her Epic album LONELY STREET and her 1981 A&M-Canada LP should be reissued as well. A box set from this outstanding Canadian artist would be quite welcome."

"AT LAST, Lucille, you are in my collection again. And an excellent addition this album is, too. After all this time, Lucille you are still beautiful, in marvelous voice, and ROCKING! I would place this album in the ten best popular albums that I have purchased in the last 12 months. Sorta rockabilly and cajun and pure country, too. A definite winner, with one exception, and that is that this is a recent recording, making my reason for buying it, after 10 years of searching for it, 'The French Song,' a dissappointment to me, as I really want the original recording from the 60's................come on, A&M, please release this orig album and give us what we want. Again, however, Lucille, please keep recording, you are as wonderful as I remember you and we need your music."
"Lucille Starr has been singing for many years. For some reason it's hard to find her music. But I really recommend this Album. It is the most enjoyable combination of French and English I have ever heard. Lucille Starr is a real pleasure to listen to."

"I tried to obtain this artist's work for some time. Finally you people were able to supply it with great service. This is a great CD and I'm not disappointed at all. I love the Cajun flavour in the music and I think she is one of the greatest and unfortunately under rated singers in Canada today. Keep up the good work Lucille."

"42 years ago I purchased a '45 recording of The French Song which was found in a bin of used juke box records. This song stayed with me all these years - and 42 years later I still have that '45. Over the years I constantly searched for more of her recording. even when visiting Montreal and Toronto, but with no succcess. Now that I've listened to more of her recordings I have to agree with her fans, and hope that A&M re-release's her albums on CD. However, I still have my LP's so I won't be fussy, I'll take her music any way I can, over and over - again and again!"
