"There has never been another Lucia who was able to outsing Callas' LEGENDARY live-performance from Mexico. FLAWLESS from beginning to the end! High notes like rockets, LASER-LIKE coloratura, the BEST phrasing (ESp. compared to Sutherland)... BEAUTIFUL, FASCINATING... The most GORGEOUS Lucia!"
The beginning of a great Lucia

"This Lucia, part of Callas' 1952 season in Mexico City, is the beginning of the great character development that would culminate in Berlin with Karajan. The character is not yet as multi-dimensional as Callas would later make her, and the nuances of later performances are not there. The voice is still too heavy. As a document of her early career, this recording is important, but due to the poor sound, lackluster conducting and horrible compremari, not very easy to listen to."
