CD Reviews

"Although PS4 still considered to be Bukem best mix, this one is pretty up there as well. Love it from begining to end. Although it is not a ps mix, it has it's own flava. You will not regret this cd cause it's a must owned.
Update-After months of listening to this cd, I hate to admit that this has to be LTJ Bukem best mix. I can't stop listening to it"
Classic

"This whole album carries the distinct "Bukem" sound, groovy basslines, beatuiful atmosphere and solid mixing throughout. Good cohesive track selection, this album flowed decently well to me despite a couple of misplaced tracks towards the end. Bukem does an interesting job in balancing the more orchestral DNB tracks (lots of keys and gentle melodies) with some more aggressive tracks. At times it kinda killed my groove, but after a few listens i could appreciate it.
I say pick this one up, it is a nice dose of some fresh sounds from one of the best names in Drum and Bass."
Great Liquid Mix, Up To Par - Where is the new Progression S

"All in all this album showcases the genius that is LTJ BUKEM. The track selection is liquid rollers with bouncy basslines and ambient themes, it does get a little rough in the middle though. The mixing is superb, and it's also a great showcase of new dnb artists/producers. Don't miss out if you are a fan of Bukem and the Progression Session series. Worth it all the way."
Disappointing

"I'm a huge fan of Bukem's, to the extent that I've traveled to other cities to see him play if he wasn't coming to mine. I love the Progression Session series and expected something similar to this. This is my first Fabriclive cd.
That said, this cd doesn't have the energy or longevity of the PS series. MC Conrad is not on this disc and there is no crowd noise, something I assumed would be there given the Fabriclive name (I thought the point was that it was a live mix, but maybe not...?).
Overall the mix feels like it was recorded in a studio at 3pm, not at a club at 3am. Coupled with a bunch of tracks that lack the staying power the PS series typically had, it's a bit of a let down. I'm really disappointed with this release.
That's not to say there aren't some great tracks to be heard or that Bukem has somehow strayed from the dnb sound I love, just that this doesn't rank up there with the great ones. And of course, Bukem's mixing is excellent as always.
I'm giving this two stars as it compares to the Progression Session series nearly all of which I would give 5 stars. To be honest if I weren't comparing it to them, I'd rate it higher.
I'm sad to say, it's not what I'd hoped for nor as good as it could be."
