"Wonder what the world would have been like if grunge had been around in 1967? Apparently Love Battery did, and decided to do something about it.As the Seattle music scene became trendy in the early 90's, there were quite a few bands who suddenly got their chance to be hear. Love Battery was one of them, but somehow they still kind of got lost in the shuffle, which is a shame since there's some good stuff here. The opening (title) track found its way onto a couple of compilations, and it's catchy in both its melody and its rhythm. The other songs are a little different, but Love Battery has a great ear for a hook. Lots of wah-wah and fuzz. Other standout tracks include "Orange", "Easter" and "Ibiza Bar" but "Highway of Souls" might be the best song on the album.Of the other bands of the time, I'd say they're most like the Screaming Trees."
