"After his first two albums, Let Me Show You and his self-titled debut on a major label, made some major hype, disputes with Alpha International a.k.a. Alpha Crew caused a three-year limbo between his self-titled album and his follow-up titled Love on My Mind, which appeared on 2 Live Crew's Luke Campbell's Luke Records in 1995. The lead single "If It's Alright With You" peaked at No. 41 on the R&B charts, as did the album. Keith Sweat contributes his vocals and producing skills to "If It's Alright With You," but Lorenzo wrote virtually every note on the album, not to mention, he engineered most the album himself. Highlights include the soulful, plead "Don't Wanna Share," which answers the question, "Why Lorenzo is regarded as a latter-day soul man?" The last appearences Lorenzo Smith made were on Luke's Uncle Luke CD(1996), and Dead Ringaz' New Ringa Order (1996). Since then, Lorenzo has vanished and so has his music. Lorenzo will no doubt appeal to fans of Otis Redding, James Brown, and Sam Cooke, as well as Luther Vandross, Freddy Jackson, and Will Downing fans (new jack swing and early-'90s R&B fans will be satisfied)."
