"I saw Lonesome Val in a bar somewhere in Georgia, maybe? It has to have been 20 years and I was there to see my friends' band headline. Lonesome Val's set was so good that I bought the cassette on the spot. I don't know if they had CD's then. I just recently bought a beater truck with a cassette player and dug out my box of tapes, and put in Lonesome Val. It is still such sweet music, not every song is great but half of the songs still sound as good today as they did then. Hers is the only tape I still have kicking around from those days, and I am thankful, because really it's great stuff. Give it a listen. And Val, come back out, your songs are amazing."

"Val is a great performer and very good songwriter. You can certainly ignore the one star reviewer: he obviously just doesn't like this type of music, as you can tell by his comment about the Bar None catalog. I think the label had far better sense than this petulant, mean-spirited, close-minded "reviewer." He is right about one thing: if you don't like this kind of music, don't buy the album. Listen to the previews and decide for yourself. It's a shame she didn't get the breaks she deserved. Her absence is a great loss for anyone who can appreciate talent, not fads."
