"I acquired a copy of this disc not long after it was issued, and have played it many times since. It is quite simply an astounding performance. Compared with many others it is relatively subdued in tone but what I like most is the feeling that the composer's son is determined to convey the full range of emotions contained in this score. There is no playing to the gallery, only the feeling that the music is being allowed to speak for itself. The playing of the LSO is fully worthy of the conductor's intentions, and the recording sounds truthful and conveys the full orchestral range."

"I bought this as well right when it came out and this is by far the best recording I've ever owned of this. I've actually had to buy several copies because I kept going through them so I'm happy to say that with this final copy I'll be putting it on my itunes and I'll never have to buy another one again. This is a very rare find and I've been searching for it now for quite some time.



I'd buy these up in a heart beat if I were you. I'm a classical fanatic and am also a clarinetist. My whole family are classical musicians and I know great music when I hear it."
