"Never an intense Pat Benatar fan when she hit the scene, I now stand in a certain awe of the power she and husband Neil Giraldo convey on this great evocation of years of playing together. With only a quartet--and NO ryhthm guitar!--they rip through Benatar's biggest hits and add new material that is as fresh as the 21st century. The power of the guitar playing shows Neil to be one of the most versatile musicians in rock music--ever. His command of the instrument is extraordinary in the way he bends the music to his will, and the excitement never stops from riff to riff. Benatar hangs back when Neil is on a roll, but then she smashes back into the song with pipes as limber as ever. She is one of the half dozen truly great female rock stars, as different from Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt, and Janis Joplin as she is unique and trailblazing in her own work. A perfect couple, who, one assumes, have played out their career on a field of battle."

"I bought this cd before it was released at one of Her concerts. This is the Best live cd I have ever purchased. It has four new songs and two acustic versions of "We Belong" and "love is a battlefield". Any Pat fan or any one who enjoys live music would Be nuts not to buy this CD. Look for the new cd this summer called "GIRL" it's going to be a good one."

"Rock's foremost female legend releases her first official live! album since Live From Earth in 1983 & what a spectacular it is!!! I have the accompanying DVD & the show showcases Pat faves from 1979 onwards, along with 4 brand new tracks which are in essence better than some of her 'classics', demonstrating that despite her years on the music scene her songs are still fresh & commanding. No theatrics, no sexy dancers, Benatar's voice alone, which is sweet & controlled, delivers & captivates with great passion from the opening track Treat Me Right, through to All Fired Up. A ballad version of perhaps Benatar's most famed single Love Is A Battlefield is a true treat, & other rockers such as We Live For Love & Hell Is For Children fare very well 20-odd years later. The 4 previewed tracks from the next album Girl (penned for a Spring 2003 release) are sublime rockers which carry the trademarks Giraldo touch, in particular Girl which is sophisticated-cool, Out of The Ruins (as harrowing as it sounds), & a rock AOR ballad Please Don't Leave Me (gorgeous without being as trite as the album suggests). Add to that despite their years in the business, Pat & Neil are totally gorgeous (Mr Gravity has been very, very kind, lol), you feel like you're looking into the past. The music's timeless, audience interaction is great. A sublime rock concert which could teach the Linkin Parks of this world a thing or two."

"Having seen Bentar in concert, this disk catches the rawness of their sound live, that is not heard on their studio cds. Shame this cds too short. Having released a few live cds over the years (all dealing with her early years, up to the GET NERVOUS cd), it was time for a live cd with her later material, there is just not enough of it. Nice acustic versions of "Love is a Battlefield" and "We Belong". The 4 new songs sound good enough to make me interested in a new cd from her. For a better live cd of her check the KING BISCUIT HOUR cd (4 stars), or LIVE FROM EARTH (3 1/2), skip an other live stuff from her. Overall this cd suffers from music all ready heard on other live cds, and not enough of her later music, sure would love to hear a live version of "Sex as a Weapon", "Invinicble", or any thing from INNAMORATA. Maybe next time"

"pat and neil's summer tour live cd is a very good treat. not only does it present great classicsl, like hell is for childern, live for love, among others, its a great treat for and benatar/giraldo fan. this concert is the soundtrack from thier summer tour dvd, under the same name. the songs on the cd are exceptional, including the new songs, girl, and out of the ruins, shown in true fashion, that pat can still rock at now in her late fourties.if you buy this cd, you must buy the live dvd of pat and niel's summer tour as well."
